IDI Uganda adheres to the Safeguarding Policy for Children and Vulnerable Groups established by its parent organization, Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI). The purpose of this policy is to set safeguarding standards across all KFHI entities including country offices. By following this policy, IDI Uganda ensures that the safety, dignity, and rights of children and vulnerable groups are consistently protected throughout all its programs and activities.
What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding is the process of protecting all beneficiaries from abuse or exploitation, preventing harm to their health and development, and ensuring their safety and effective care to promote their well-being.
Basic Principle of Safeguarding
- Everyone is being made in the image of God.
- We shall ‘Do No Harm’ to beneficiaries.
- We strive to provide a safe environment for all that we serve.
- We do not abuse power over beneficiaries
- We prevent all abuse and exploitation of beneficiaries.
- We minimize damage if safeguarding issues occur.
