CFCT

Child Focused Community Transformation

Our development projects are realized through the Child-Focused Community Transformation (CFCT).
CFCT’s work centers on family, church and community leaders, empowering them to better care for and meet children’s needs.
IDI Uganda is implementing CFCT in 26 communities, including Kamuli, Luuka, and Kabarole Districts.

1. Asset-based Approach

We work with local people to discover potentials and resources. We then establish a plan together to fully utilize potentials and transform communities.

2. Integrated Approach

We utilize an integrated approach and tackle the underlying causes of poverty. As poverty is multifaceted, multiple perspectives need to be integrated for a comprehensive understanding of local situations.

3. Long-term Relationship

We forge long relationships with the communities, compounding mutual trust and understanding. We engage each community about a decade for the transformation process.

4. Child-focused

We believe that community transformation is what ultimately changes the lives of children in the most vulnerable places. We transform communities to be where children can grow healthy.

Sector-based approach

Our CFCT model is built on five core sectors. These sectors guide programme planning and implementation, ensuring that interventions are holistic and directly responsive to community and children’s needs. The five CFCT sectors include: Livelihoods, Education, Health, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Spiritual Development.
By working through sector-based frameworks, CFCT enables communities to address root causes of vulnerability in a structured and sustainable way, strengthening families and local systems to support children’s long-term well-being.
